We arrived there early in the morning, around 7:30AM just as the competitors were arriving and preparing their horses. This photograph was  taken as the horses waited for the veterinary and farrier inspection before the ride itself.  This was taken in the early morning of a horse some distance away with almost full zoom on the Olympus 2100, with the low sunlight directly behind the horse which gave this unusual effect.
