of the
The Arab Horse Society
17th Annual Show, 23rd July, 2000

These photographs were taken at the North Staffordshire Group show, held at
the Staffordshire County Showground, Staffordshire, England
on the 23rd of July, 2000.

This show is held by my local regional group of the UK Arab Horse Society at the local
showground only a few miles from my home. There was a good attendance at
the show, and as always, a wonderful, friendly atmosphere too.

Sadly, from the photography perspective, it was a very dull, overcast day, (cold too) which
made for difficult conditions to take photographs in, especially trying to get close up
pictures of the horses using narrow angle lenses from outside the ring.

Here is a selection of pictures from the show.

Apologies if I have any details of the horses wrong, please
email
me if you spot one of my mistakes or have any comments !

This lovely yearling filly, HT Kurinda (Shaikh Al Kuran x Karimda) not only won her class, but went on to become the show supreme champion too.
Notice a family likeness here ? This 3yo gelding, HT Fayid (Shaikh Al Kuran x Bint Fikri) has the same sire as the filly above, and was also bred Mr &Mrs E.H. and Mr I.Woodward.
PA Salomai (Rusleem x Siwah), a two year old filly that with very striking markings that came second in her class.
The pinto stallion is TA Khonfetti (Khardan x Indian Summer) owned by Dick and Christine Reed. It was taken during the Western riding classes in the afternoon.
These classes are gaining in popularity, and the officials and competitors in these classes are always friendly and enthusiastic, always trying hard to promote the Arabian in Western riding events.
Another picture of the filly, HT Kurinda (Shaikh Al Kuran x Karimda). This was taken at the show championship presentation.
