New Websites

As usual there are a number of new sites to look at this month
that have been added to the unicorn links page which was
moved to a separate page a few months ago.

Firstly there are some websites in other languages I've found.
Two Spanish language sites are De Historia et Veritate Unicornis and
Unicornios which is an attractively designed site in Spanish with a picture
gallery and a number of pages of interesting facts about unicorns.
There are also two new German language sites, Einhoerner which has a
a large picture collection and Fee's Einhorn und Peagsuswelt which
is an attractive Unicorn and Pegasus site with many links
to other unicorn / fantasy sites and a unicorn facts page.
Marykaa Homepage is a well designed French language site
which has a page with unicorn pictures and links to other sites.

Also new to the links this time :-
Into the Woods where you can stop on your journey to rest and visit the
"The Last Unicorn" pages there, and Lupa's Unicorn Page, a nice page with
pictures, information and original stories too. Pams Unicorns has links,
pictures and unicorn clip-art images and Do You Believe in Unicorns
I found to be an interesting and varied page to visit too

Other new sites are Mishchief's Haven - Unicorns, The Unicorns Road
Unicorn Realm (Flight of the Unicorn) and also Unicorn Embrace

And if you ever wanted to ask the question 'Do I spend a lot of time
looking for unicorns sites ?', the answer is YES 8-).
Just don't ask how big my monthly phone bill is !

Pages of Special Merit

One page worthy of special mention this month is Silavanon's The Silver Unicorn
I my opinion, this page just keeps getting better each time I visit it.
Take a journey through Silavanon's forest and you will be rewarded by some
original artwork, poetry and stories. A very nice site indeed,
It's full of original work and ideas which is especially good to see.
It even has it's own unicorn message board, one not to be missed !

The artwork of Gissel E.

This artist from Uruguay has recently done some wonderful Unicorn drawings.
They are being kindly being hosted by Neysa on her Unicorn picture page.
I must also thank Gissel E. for a wonderful picture she sent to me.
Do take a look at the Gissel E. collection, they're beautiful and inventive.

Neysa's Unicorn Picture Page has also been re-designed and updated.
This must be the best Unicorn picture collection on the net
and it's always worth a visit.

Well this really interesting item here which was sent to me by Meinoedske’s Homepage

Goa / Der Zauberwald

This is a stage play with horses, and the story involves unicorns !
It's a German production, but I think it was also shown in Holland too.
Meinoedske’s Homepage has an excellent review of it on her Goa page.

Der Zauberwald is the German website for this show, and is full of information
and pictures of the show, and details on when and where it is being shown.
This page sems to only be in German, but you will probably find the
babelfish online translator page at http://babelfish.altavista.digital.com/
useful to help to translate the text on this website, it's worth the effort !

If anyone has any more information on this show, or has
seen it then please let me know more about it

Unicorn pictures (where to find them)

There are some sites with large and growing Unicorn picture collections.
There is a new site with an excellent unicorn picture collection at Danielle's Unicorn Page,
Unicorn Dreams has a growing collection of pictures, good quality scans too.
Holly's Unicorn Meadow has been recently updated and enlarged,
Theresa Farrell's site has some very good original fantasy artwork in her gallery.
Welcome To Wild Unicorns has an extensive collection, and
Paladin's Last Unicorn Page has a large collection of 'The Last Unicorn' movie images
Both of these are excellent web sites too, Paladins page has a bookstore too.
However, I still think Neysa may have one of the largest collections of unicorn
pictures on the internet, several artists exhibit their work there.

and some good tutorials on drawing techniques too ! (I've tried them).

More Unicorn Pictures

This is one of the first unicorn pictures I've done myself.
Its based on a photograph of a horse I took which
I've reworked. Click on the picture for the full size version.
There is an animated version of this I did on the index page

Another unusual unicorn picture.
These two impressive stone unicorn carvings are
on a factory wall in Stafford near my home.
They were erected when the building was
constructed which was sometime around 1937-1938.  

Recently several more people have sent to me some wonderful unicorn
artwork they had created, which with their permission
I am showing on these pages

This picture, created using Photoshop, was sent to me by Mare Astra
as a self portrait. She is significant for having one of the first Unicorn
websites I ever found on the internet, and her site helped to
inspire the creation of this website over three years ago.

These two pictures were sent to me by an artist called Gennale.
I liked them so much I requested permission to put them
on my page, so here they are. The picture on the left is
called Tatianna, and the one on the right is called Wild.

This was one of two pictures sent to me by an an artist called Shar.
Again, as I liked it so much, I asked if it could be displayed here.

Content and Originality

Original work is becoming rarer, and certainly should be valued. But too many
websites recently though are copying others ideas and then claiming
sole right to it themselves ! They also often use annoying Java code that
stops the right mouse button from working. It's not easy to review pages
easily for mention on this page or bookmark them when half the
browsers functions have been disabled by unfriendly Java code !
