New Websites
As usual there are a number
of new sites to look at this month
that have been added to the unicorn links page
which was
moved to a separate page a few months ago.
A recommended site to visit
is Where Do Unicorns Go
which is a very well
designed site with good graphics and a lot of information,
together with the
authors poetry and personal thoughts on unicorns. It has a
message board too.
In Myth and Reality
has an excellent and growing series of pages
with historical information and pictures, together with
information
on "The Last Unicorn" movie. Unicorns (Moonchilds
Page) is a
nice site with some good midi music and links to other pages too.
Welcome to the Unicorn Queens Lair has a unicorn picture gallery,
and an especially large number of animated unicorn,
pegasus and other pictures (including horses).
A Fantasy art site that
delighted me recently was the Nene Fantasy
Art Gallery
which within it has some original unicorn artwork by the sites
author.
Check out the Romantic Fantasy Art section at
http://www.nenethomas.com/galleries/RF_0.html
The equine artwork there is really excellent too !
Kleo the Misfit Unicorn
is the website page for a Canadian TV
cartoon series featuring a unicorn character. I'll have to see if
I can get the video's here in the UK too <grin>
Other new pages on the list
here for this month are Mystical
Creatures
which has a lot of factual information, A place of Magic, Golden Unicorn,
Sapphire's Unicorn Page
and The Unicorn's Forest.
Don't forget to take a journey through Unicorns Glade too
And if you ever wanted to
ask the question 'Do I spend a lot of time
looking for unicorns sites ?', the answer is YES 8-).
Just don't ask how big my monthly phone bill is !
And there are even more links from previous editions on the next page too !

Other Website News
Mystical Unicorn (by
Unicorn Lady) has moved from it's abac.com URL recently.
It is a very attractively designed site indeed with a number of
interesting
pages including information on unicorns, stories and pictures.
The author has designed some desktop themes too, which are
available on the site. It's obvious that a lot of hard work has
gone into
all this. Do check out this website, it's worth the time to
visit.

Pages of Special Merit
This is where I review pages
worthy of special merit each month.
These are pages I've visited or revisited that have something
unique and original about them, or really do show that the author
has put a lot of effort into writing and designing the site.
This month the special merit
site has been around for a long time
(although it has moved it's URL a few times). The Unicorn Webpage
is the place to go to for factual, historical
information about the
unicorn. It is where you can see many depictions of the unicorn
that the site's author, Bruno Faidutti, has found within art,
historical
works of literature and within museums. This is a unique
collection.
The author has spent over five years of study, consulting
manuscripts,
engravings, paintings and books, and has even written a phD
thesis
on the subject of unicorns from the Middle Ages to the 19th
Century.
This website is unique, and an important resource to all those
who have
both a serious interest, or just a passing fascination for
unicorns.
Written in both French and English, it deserves a visit and
the author deserves congratulating for sharing his
years of study with all of us on the internet.

The artwork of Gissel E.
This artist from Uruguay has
recently done some wonderful Unicorn drawings.
They are being kindly being hosted by Neysa on her Unicorn
picture page.
I must also thank Gissel E. for a wonderful picture she sent to
me.
Do take a look at the Gissel
E. collection, they're beautiful
and inventive.
Neysa's
Unicorn Picture Page has also been
re-designed and moved
recently to a new URL. This must be the best Unicorn picture
collection on the net and it's always worth a visit.

Well this really interesting item here which was sent to me by Meinoedskes Homepage
Goa / Der Zauberwald
This is a stage play with
horses, and the story involves unicorns !
It's a German production, but I think it was also shown in
Holland too.
Meinoedskes Homepage has an excellent review of it on her Goa
page.
Der Zauberwald is the German website for this show, and is
full of information
and pictures of the show, and details on when and where it is
being shown.
This page sems to only be in German, but you will probably find
the
babelfish online translator page at http://babelfish.altavista.digital.com/
useful to help to translate the text on this website, it's worth
the effort !
If anyone has any
more information on this show, or has
seen it then please let me know more about it

Unicorn Projects and Campaigns
There is a new website which
each month has inspirational stories featuring
unicorns. It's called
Unicornucopia.com, click here to get there
Lady Rhiannon has started a
'Save the Unicorns campaign' on her website
Click on the button above to visit the story page
Or click here to visit Lady
Rhiannon's Realm
Have you ever seen the word
"Alicorn" in any publication referring to a unicorns
horn ?
If so, you may be able to help someone by joining in with
..............
The Alicorn Project
If you think you can help,
please visit the site above.
You can add this banner to you own site too, visit the site
to find out how.
There's some great news for
any of you out there who collect unicorn figures,
especially the Enchantica 'Fables' series by Holland
Studio Craft.
They have a website, with the entire range of figures and lots
of other interesting information too ! Take a look at ;
http://www.enchantica.demon.co.uk/

There are some sites with
large and growing Unicorn picture collections.
There is a new site with an excellent unicorn picture collection
at Danielle's Unicorn Page,
Unicorn Dreams has a growing collection of pictures, good quality
scans too.
Holly's Unicorn Meadow
has been recently updated and enlarged,
Theresa Farrell's site
has some very good original fantasy artwork in her gallery.
Welcome To Wild Unicorns has an extensive collection, and
Paladin's Last Unicorn Page has a large collection of 'The Last Unicorn' movie
images
Both of these are excellent web sites too, Paladins page has a bookstore too.
However, I still think Neysa
may have one of the largest
collections of unicorn
pictures on the internet, several artists exhibit their work
there.

Other Artwork Sites
For more Unicorn artwork,
try Novel Art Images of Fantasy and Reality
There is some excellent fantasy artwork on this site by Linda
Gruber,
and some good tutorials on drawing techniques too ! (I've tried
them).
And of course, there's the really beautiful and excellent work of
Sue Dawe
Tonia's Fantasy Art Page has a number of original pictures of unicorns.
The website can be found at http://members.tripod.com/~toniad_2/StartPage.html
If you know of a unicorn artists site or are one, then please email
me.

And for what must be the largest and most detailed
source of
information on Pegasi, try :-
The brilliant artist
who's building this site has revised it recently,
Please note that it is still very much under construction.
It is most definitely worth visiting, you won't be disappointed.

Content and Originality
Original work is becoming
rarer, and certainly should be valued. But too many
websites recently though are copying others ideas and then
claiming
sole right to it themselves ! They also often use annoying Java
code that
stops the right mouse button from working. It's not easy to
review pages
easily for mention on this page or bookmark them when half the
browsers functions have been disabled by unfriendly Java code !

If you
really enjoyed this or have any comments, then please sign my Guestbook
to let me know you called so I can pay you a visit too !

has visited recently
