This excellent site has an increasing number of Unicorn windows desktop themes,
screensavers, wallpaper and other items. There are many excellent items here
(and dragons too) contained in a very neat and easily navigable website.
Just follow the Fantasy catagory from each menu item to find the unicorns !
I must really congratulate Gill on the exceptional work that has been done here
to create these themes and the easy installation instructions too.

A good friend emailed to tell me about this, many of you who like unicorns have
seen the wonderful movie "Legend". It appears from this web site's pages that
soon there may be a special "collectors edition" DVD issued ! I'm certainly looking
forward to this, and I guess many of you out there also will be too. The Legend FAQ
is an excellent website on this film, and anyone who enjoyed it and wants to find
out much more about it really should visit this webpage on this topic
which is full of well written information, news, facts and more !
It looks like many hours of research was done there !

Online Unicorn Colouring Book

Want to have a go at colouring your own Unicorn pictures ? Yes, there is
an online Unicorn colouring book ! It's part of the Awhitehorse.com Arabian
horse website, and it's recently been expanded with even more
pictures to colour by the sites author and artist, Stacey Mayer.

The art of Ed Beard Jr

I met this artist at "King Richards Faire" Carver MA, on one of
my trips to visit some very good friends in the USA. Whilst there
I bought one of his wonderful Unicorn pictures. On returning home
I decided to check out his website. If anyone has an interest in fantasy art,
this is a site you must visit. Some of you may have seen his artwork already
on some of the "Magic the Gathering" cards or comic book covers ! He has an
outstanding range of work, and much of it is on show, and for sale on his website.

Unicorn Sculptures by Juan Gilberto Hernandez

I was recently sent these pictures and details of these wonderful 6 foot high sculptures
of unicorn heads, carved by an artist in Puerto Rico called Juan Gilberto Hernandez.
Each piece is around six feet high and two feet across, carved from a tree trunk.
It takes the artist many months of work to create these amazing works of art.

Pages of Special Merit

This is where I review pages worthy of special merit each edition.
These are pages I've visited or revisited that have something
unique and original about them, they may really do show that the
author has put a lot of effort into writing and designing the site
or display artwork or stories of exceptional originality.
It's a personal award really, to recognise hard work,
originality, good design or just dedication to Unicorns.

This editions award of merit goes to someone who I feel has done
more for creating beautiful Unicorn artwork than any other person,
Sue Dawe

I know it was a book on Unicorns that got me "hooked" on them years ago
(and don't ask how many please !) but some of the first Unicorn pictures
that really inspired me to do this webpage were by Sue Dawe. She has
consistently created some of the most beautiful, original and charming
pictures I've seen, and I'm certain there are many others that may
agree with this too ! I don't think there is anyone out there that
loves Unicorns that hasn't seen any of her work or does
not know of her exceptional talent. I think she has done
more to inspire other people's love of uncorns
than probably any other artist I know !

So, it's for this that her website is the page of merit this month !

New Websites

As usual there are a number of new sites to look at for this edition
that have been added to the Unicorn links page (which was
moved to a separate page then split into two a few months ago).

Realm of the Unicorn Speakers is an attractively designed page with information on
unicorns, poetry and other things. It's till under construction but it looks like there will
be much more soon. Land of Enchantment is a commercial site offering
unicorn and other mythical and enchanted animal gifts.

Unicorns.com is a commercial site that invites you to visit where they offer unique,
original items created especially for them by our artists. You will find a selection of
products including sculptures and many other items It also has a good myths and
legends that surround this elusive creature as well as puzzles and games.

The Monokerus Page is a Greek Unicorn page which has information on unicorn
myths as well a pictures pictures too. This is a very recent page and is still growing !

My Favorite Last Unicorn Pictures and Quotes has information and links to other
Last Unicorn websites. Unicorn Wishes has Unicorn pictures and stories too.

And if you ever wanted to ask the question 'Do I spend a lot of time
looking for unicorns sites ?', the answer is YES 8-).
Just don't ask how big my monthly phone bill is, or
if my computer chair is worn out yet ! OK <grin>

Unicorn pictures (where to find them)

There are some sites with large and growing Unicorn picture collections.
There is a site with an excellent unicorn picture collection at Danielle's Unicorn Page,
Unicorn Dreams has a growing collection of pictures, good quality scans too.
Holly's Unicorn Meadow has been recently updated and enlarged,
Theresa Farrell's site has some very good original fantasy artwork in her gallery.
Welcome To Wild Unicorns has an extensive collection, and
Paladin's Last Unicorn Page has a large collection of 'The Last Unicorn' movie images
Both of these are excellent web sites too, Paladins page has a bookstore too.
However, I still think Neysa may have one of the largest collections of unicorn
pictures on the internet, several artists exhibit their work there.

This artist from Uruguay has recently done some wonderful Unicorn drawings.
They are being kindly being hosted by Neysa on her Unicorn picture page.
I must also thank Gissel E. for a wonderful picture she sent to me.

Neysa's Unicorn Picture Page has also been re-designed and moved
recently to a new URL. This must be the best Unicorn picture

More Unicorn Pictures

This is one of the first unicorn pictures I've done myself.
Its based on a photograph of a horse I took which
I've reworked. Click on the picture for the full size version.

Another unusual unicorn picture.
These two impressive stone unicorn carvings are
on a factory wall in Stafford near my home.
They were erected when the building was
constructed which was sometime around 1937-1938.  

Recently several more people have sent to me some wonderful unicorn
artwork they had created, which with their permission
I am showing on these pages

This picture, created using Photoshop, was sent to me by Mare Astra
as a self portrait. She is significant for having one of the first Unicorn
websites I ever found on the internet, and her site helped to
inspire the creation of this website over three years ago.

These two pictures were sent to me by an artist called Gennale.
I liked them so much I requested permission to put them
on my page, so here they are. The picture on the left is
called Tatianna, and the one on the right is called Wild.

Content and Originality

Original work is becoming rarer, and certainly should be valued. But too many
websites recently though are copying others ideas and then claiming
sole right to it themselves ! They also often use annoying Java code that
stops the right mouse button from working. It's not easy to review pages
easily for mention on this page or bookmark them when half the
browsers functions have been disabled by unfriendly Java code !
